I was invited to listen to Brian McLaren, emerging church forefather (I guess you could say) on a show called “Reasonable Doubts.” The show is basically an intellectual, agnostic show, attempting to reason out issues in religion that people don’t usually realize. In other words, it’s the Skeptic Station. Frankly, I liked the show for their honesty in questions. And I still have some questions, yes.
This is nothing new; in fact, many parents outside the Church have this has their main concern. Perhaps you’re like me, though, and this concern extends to other areas besides physical or even emotional well-being. Perhaps you are concerned for your child’s spiritual safety. I don’t presuppose to have “answers” for that, as such, but I believe God has presented me with a vision for what I will call the Present-Generation Church, meaning all those who are currently parents (not grandparents), or people in their age range (mainly 20-40).
Not only is “Emergent” still a flexible, only-partially defined concept first labeled by my school, they then use that partial definition to further other arguments. So halfway down the stream, the boat will collapse and they will wonder why.
